About Us

Nicolas started in the fine wine market in 2002, starting in logistics looking after imports for a major UK wine merchant. He was then promoted in 2005 to be in charge of all purchasing. He led the buying of Bordeaux throughout the year and during en primeur and managed pricing and buying of private cellars in Europe. Nicolas started Appellations on his own in 2010.

Alan is responsible for all aspects of Appellations finances – dealing both with customers & suppliers, as well as the day to day running of the accounts, running our foreign currency positions, and mostly importantly, making sure our suppliers get paid quickly & efficiently! He is also now helping Nicolas with logistics. Alan has been working for Appellations since 2015.
